Twenty Twelve is hitting off really well. Very blessed that my heavenly father's watching over me and my love ones : )

We celebrated Valentine's Day a day earlier at Au Petit Salut - Harding Road. Been wanting to try the highly raved french fine dining and thought it's the perfect occasion for it. Definitely enjoyed my evening and stuffed myself with the french goodies despite just having 3 course meal but boy was i stuffed to my limit.

The cherry for the evening was a kindle from Neek. I've been on a reading fanatic-spree in recent months reading countless successful business personalities and i'm so glad to receive a kindle! The only thing i got for Neek? Chanel - Bleu.

Watching these videos is tempting me to leave everything behind and head on for a three-months-long holiday to several amazing countries! Top of my list is London-Paris-Greece-Peru. Definitely Peru to see Machu Picchu! I've been watching An Idiot Broad and seeing karl pilkington's adventures to the wonders in season 1 & 2 is pretty fantastic plus his brit accent never fails to make me laugh.

Twenty Twelve is sooo near. I'm not sure if i am looking forward to the new year with excitement but i sure know it's gonna be one year of a ride of highs and lows.

It's boxing day today and i'm feeling a little sick. Too much food of late. Paps finally came home today and we headed out to dempsey hill for Chang Korean BBQ and P.S Cafe for dinner and desserts. Chang Korean was a little disappointing compared to the previous times i had but i was pretty impressed with P.S Cafe's Sticky Date!

First half of December breezed by so quickly!!! Since the return of my final work trip of 2011, i have been swamped with work at both the stores and office, having dinners out each night and returning home only till midnight having to face the same cycle the next day. I finally turn 24 a couple of days ago and it was an intimate celebration at Antoinette with the closest of friends and the boyfriend. Cannot wait till paps return from his work trip and the whole family will head to Garibaldi.

Looking forward to the annual Christmas Eve house party, birthday meal with my family, Christmas church celebration but before all that, definitely looking forward to tonight's dinner at Kuriya to celebrate the boyfriend's mum birthday!

Wanderlust - Tree Monster!

The first surprise stay-ca-tion Nic booked at Wanderlust was fantastic and i knew i had to return for a 2nd time so about a month back, we stayed again and needless to say, it was yet another good experience. We headed to the shops bright and early on Saturday morning, did our errands, drove back to get our bags and headed for our one night stay at Wanderlust. Walking around Little India is awesome too. The indian rojak found at Tekka Market is to die for! I've honestly havent had indian rojak that tasted so good. That evening, armed with lots of movies and american shows, i spent the entire afternoon catching up on Gossip Girl, Nikita and 90210 while the boyfriend pays his sleep debt. Anyway, we rushed off to St james for Dhanesh's birthday bash where he splurged amore than a grand that night on drinks! The next morning was the sweetest! Breakfast at the hotel's resident diner - Cocotte where we had a hearty and wholesome breakfast of muesli, eggs, toasts, pancakes and more!

Tokyo in Summer!

Amidst all the mess and stress at work, it's always good to take a breather so this time, we headed to Tokyo in Summer! Japan for the 5th time and it's still by far the only (asian) country i'll never get sick of. Truly enjoyable with the closest of friends and the boyfriend : ) It was my first time there in Summer and boy was it hot! It felt like Singapore or maybe worst and Japanese being Japanese still don their best fashion outfits. Salute em all.

The week long break started off with a horrible transit at KL with my friends while the boyfriend was on Singapore Airlines enjoying 3 full movies and a very good meal straight to Haneda. And there in Tokyo, we spent each day, eating, walking, shopping, eating, walking, shopping. We obviously skipped all touristy venues because we already covered most/all the main attractions in Tokyo.

Best buy of the trip? 10 pairs of really cute socks! I'll post em up the next time.

The first few weeks of August is now gone and looking back, i'm so glad that i'm almost done with August!

August oh August, office renovations, packing, moving, FF's new website, employee issues, slow sales after GSS. Pretty much a bad month. We spent Firday - Sunday sorting, packing and moving all the things in the current home-office to the new office. Pictures over at facebook.

I feel a little different now that im 23 going on to 24 in a couple of months! I wouldn't say 24 is an old age but i feel old. It's a weird feeling. I don't feel wiser but i feel like my life is heading in the direction it was meant to go. I'm no longer a dreamer, a free thinker. I'm not even chasing THE dream anymore. I'm living the dream and the journey is fabulous. No doubt on its ups and downs, good times and bad times but it's all good.

Checked into the suite at Amari Watergate, pulled opened the curtains... saw how bright it was outside, took out the camera and started to be a narcissist for a couple of minutes. haha! I want clear and radiant fair skin pronto! To make my life worse, Singapore's weather has been a bitch lately. Sun kissed skin is a BIG boo boo!

So anyway, i chanced upon this cute hotel at Bangkok - Luxx. The command of English used on the web is way too cute. E;g "Contact us" - "mouth to mouth", "e-writing" or "traditional writing". Seriously! Traditional writing? None-the-less, their rooms look pretty awesome. Clean lines, bare spaces. reminds me of Wanderlust. I loike!

This week started in the worst, most unforeseen way possible. I was looking forward to a awesome start of July after being away on a work-holiday trip with my family. So anyway, on Monday i fell (in my opinion) seriously ill. Puked a couple of times the night before and was also high on fever. Got better today but had to work for 13 hours. Whoever think bosses don't work knows nothing. It's hard hard hard work. Actually, i'd think even "hard" is not a good enough word to fit.

I'm really crossing my fingers ( and toes if i may say ) hoping that the remaining days of this week and the days ahead in July will be a-ok! God bless me and god bless the businesses...

Last Saturday, we headed to Brotzeit - German Bier Bar & Restaurant at 313 with the boyfriend's family. Everything was superb except the Sparkling Apple Juice (apparently, the apple juice is imported from Germany) which tasted odd.

Missed out on the much anticipated Brotzeit honey ribs but they are only available on Mondays and Tuesdays. Ohhhh and i read about their mango beer! This place is definitely my first and not my last!

So anyway, our full time designer + good pal Hong Wen has left us for a new beginning elsewhere. He will still be working with us on a part time - ad hoc basis but we are really short handed on manpower right now!!! It's crazy having to do everything. Im practically a "Bao-ka-liao" in this business. With the new office coming up and great expansion plans, we will be in serious search of new talents and skills to join the company. We reallllyyyy have to uppp our employees. I'm not gonna dream toooo big. Take mini steps, improve and expand as we grow :)

2 years ago, i registered my company and never looked back since. No doubt it's been one helluva challenge both mentally, financially and physically. Since the start of the business, i have been working from home. Thank god for a home big enough with extra rooms for work, storage and photoshoot studio but home is a proper home no more! I find myself working round the clock. The home-office is in a mess so both neeky boms and myself decided that it's REALLY about time to move out of a home-office and search for a proper and more spacious one.

A couple of weeks ago, we met up with several property agents and finally confirmed an office space of our own!

Two of my frequent food visits especially Wild Honey. Any place that serves all day breakfast never fails to win! Since my last update, i've worked long and hard and also played long and hard. On several days working close to 12 hours with only 2 mini food/toilet breaks. Some say that if you are / aspire to be an entrepreneur, never throw all your eggs (money) into the basket (business) but i agree to disagree. ha. I threw all i have into the business. I'm broke and tired as hell but it's the satisfaction that has been driving me to work and work and work. Moving forward, im taking a teeny weeny break to post some overdue photos taken back in Jan when the PS was undergoing renovations. I think the start of 2011 was chaotic! Uni exams, FEP's crazy Chinese New Year crowd, second store planning and preparations. If not for my family, friends and dear staff, i think nic and myself would have broken down or something. haha. The staff (new and old) of FirstDay have been awesome thus far and i cannot be more than grateful for having them.

Looking forward to midnight cycling with the girls this weekend and meeting dearest Wylie the week after!!!

Freak! The world is too small.
Earlier today, Feli told me the ex joined Singapore Airlines but i knew it was bullsh*t. There's no way a guy like him will ever be a air steward. Not that it's a bad job but he's got other job expectations i reckon. So anyway, i also found out that a job applicant knows a current staff at FirstDay. So why didnt she tell me during the interview that she knew her? weird.

School's out for real and it's official. Working at FirstDay and Fine Find's my full time job right now. It's been awesome thus far but the workload has been pretty taxing. If you do not see me at the shop does not mean i am not working!!! There's so much to check, errands to do, meetings, channeling of stocks, more checks and yada yada. We called in a full-time in house designer to work with us right now and the office space is beyond small. Big plans in the works to get a proper office + studio.

Till then, i'm gonna dream about my office space. couch, pantry, studio and hmmm.... the director's chair. haha!

In the last few months i thought a lot about love and life, lost a relative, opened a new store, had a nasty semester at school, sorted and renovated the office space, dealt with really undeserving customers and the list goes on...

My life revolves around, work and play. Some may say i work too much. Others beg to differ just because they hardly see me around at either of the stores. To be honest, i never thought i'll work as hard as i am right now but how am i to measure how hard i work when "hard" never seem "hard" enough to me.

Just got back from a work trip and i cannot wait to receive my boxes loads of clothes clothes clothes. So anyway, i almost forgot this blog existed. No posts for my birthday, christmas, new year and all the craziness around, there's just absolutely no time for me to blog as often as i want to.

Its crazy having to juggle school and work. Like ive been telling everyone, i need a year-long break!

Preparation for the new shop is sucking every energy and money out of me. I remember i was literally shaking when signing all the cheques + contract to CapitaLand. 2011 is gonna be one helluva ride but im blessed to have supports customers/clients, family, friends and of course my dearest staff across both shops. I dont think FirstDay is able to open its 2nd shop in a year without these people.

OMGOMGOMG. I think i'm a little step closer to getting my dream car : )

What's your workspace like? Neeky boms and myself are thinking to get ourselves an office cum warehouse. The amount of clothes and all other FirstDay stuff ive been storing in the room downstairs is scary. Ive got thousands of paper bags, bags and stacks of clothes, studio equipments, labels, trolley bags all over the room. I hardly have space to walk and i hope to have an office space similar to the 1st and last picture. Sweet isnt?

Earlier this week, i made effort and set aside time to meet dearest Kaireen for lunch in town. So good to see a good friend after 1 year or so :) Not forgetting dearest twinnie who just left for Perth, we celebrated her birthday at Coca @ Taka and hell was it good. Buffet steamboat with both chicken broth and tom yum with unlimited servings of food food food had us all being chased out of the restaurant close to 11pm and us walking to the car park with big full tummies.

I thank god for awesome friends and cheers to ever-lasting friendship :)

Love today! Shopping truly makes me a very happy girl. You know i mentioned several times in this space that i havent gone dating with baby? Well today was da bomb! Had so much fun with him... walking around places. Talking, eating and shopping!!! Of course i enjoyed shopping more than the others but the company i had for today was irreplaceable :)

Shopping at Topshop & Topman certainly burnt deep holes but i was over the moon that i found 2 perfect dresses. Purchased a moleskine 2011 planner (soooo awesome...). Monthly dose of Nylon from Basheer and the lucky part for the day? I found ten bucks on the floor! hahaha. See! Told cha i love today!

What a long day today.

- Woke up early to have breakfast with my family at 7am

- Drove my dad to the airport

- Headed to the doctor's with momsie

- Did some work before rushing out again to collect all JC Slash backorder shoes (yes, finally)

- Rushed back home, showered and headed to the shop to settle some work matters.

- Met Feli and boyfriend, Cheryl and boyfriend, Beng and friend.

I will be back with photos. Pizza with my favourite staff, birthday dinner at Hog's Breath and the recent bangkok trip.

The past 6 days of this week has been nothing but FANTASTIC! Well, as usual, drowning myself in work. Others dont see that i really have alot to do because they assume running your own business is easy peasy but i really beg to differ. It's probably one of the most tiring but satisfying job. haha!

Despite the busy bee i was the last few days, i managed to shop like siao in town. Met a web programmer/prospective business partner to develop FirstDay's website. Sooo sorry for the delay. Its so embarrassing that FirstDay's website is still not up but yesyesyes, i promise it's gonna be up and running v soon!

Keep your eyes peeled for more juicy updates.

side note: I should really make concrete plans to meet Justin, Sam, Chong and Eulisa very soon. I dont wanna get too drifted from work. I still love my school mates.

Im back!

Flight delayed from 9pm to 2am. I did not get any chance to shower because we checked out at 12nn. Hate to feel dirty and not given a choice to clean up!

A post dedicated to Fine Find.

Ive been working so hard for both Fine Find and FirstDay. Tired but happy, contented and satisfied. Wake up between 8-10, leave the house and only return home at midnight is somewhat the kinda life i like. Thank god for a car, a family, a loving boyfriend, good friends, good staff and thank god im loving what im doing.

Another 2 months before i return back to school. Not sure how i will be able to cope all of what im doing right now and i pray everything will be smooth sailing. Oh no, how am i going to travel often?

Anyway, a brand new collection will be up this weekend. Im taking a short mini break from Fine Find and concentrate on FirstDay.

With just 2 hours of sleep just before flight, we rushed to the terminal 3. Thank god my parents are early birds who wakes up extremely early. Momsie packed sandwiches to go. After 3.5 hours on board watching Mulan and me looking like a zombie-fied human felt ugly. Gigantic A380 was not oh-so-wow. Really big and i lovelovelove the interior colour scheme but the mechanics were rather noisy. Nonetheless, Singapore Airlines is the best airline in the world wide world!

Had my first dinner at Modern Toilet in China. Was pretty eager to go there after reading reviews and watching vids of the place but the true verdict? Food looks and taste like CRAP! The most decent choice were the drinks and the Mexican Gordita. Food wasnt the least satisfying but it was the experience of sitting on realllllll toilet bowls, eating from "toilet bowls" and drinking from "urinals" that made it fun!

It was baby's 23rd bird-day the day before we left for Hong Kong. Treated my lover boy to Wild Honey at Mandarin Gallery where they serve breafast from around the globe all day! There, i chose Tunisian: Sizzling pan of tomato stew, fried eggs & chorizo sausageand Neeky Bom chose I love NY: Scrambled eggs with caramelized onions, smoked sturgeon, bagel & cream chees. Both were truly fantastic!

Most definitely going back to Wild Honey v soon :)

Later at night, Caroli and Cheryl helped us with stocking in Fine Find, Scarlet Room, Little Red Heels, Le Flirtini and Robotninjas items. Many thanks to both of em! (Adalia, work more. i have'nt seen you in weeks!)

Neeky boms and myself hung out with the guys at Brewerkz Clarke Quay on sat after a longggggg day at work. I was sleeping in and out of chats about movies and music. Those crazy friends were there since 2pm. We were there at 10ish and left Clarke Quay at 2 in the morning. Its a whopping 12hours at Brewerkz! Damage to the pockets? 700 buckaroos.

No complains. Money should never be an issue when you're out having a good time with friends. Agree? (even though i can easily buy myself 7-10 dresses from UO / Ferragamo Varina shoes / replace my worn out wallet) haha!

Im sucha busy bee. I wish to blog more often. In fact, ive taken tons of pictures lately but because im hardly ever home, i dont get the time to upload and blog. Work's taking a toll on me. Last Friday was killer. Designed a poster in the afternoon, rushed to the printers in the evening, rushed to baby's house to settle more work and then headed to the shop where we stayed there till 3am fooling around and also making sure everything was perfect for the storewide discount on Saturday. Look at the amount of scotch tapes we use at FirstDay. A roll can last us approx 5days. At this rate, i'd better find the supplier to get them in boxes!

I dont miss my long long hair. Should i feel upset? I take a third of the time faster to wash and dry and style my hair now. It's easy! Bobby pins and headbands are the quick fix. Toodles to ALL my lovely tie bands.

Side note: I miss Wylie and Michelle Lim Beng Li. I'll probably visit Wylie real soon. Beng... i just have to wait till she returns in June-July.

Today was just as awesome as yesterday! Hung out with Feli alone for the first time :) Watched Date Night, shopped and have a fabulous meal at Cineleasure. Burgers at B cube was satisfying and we are gonna bring our boys there v soon. Love their mushroom beef burger and wasabi butter fish burger so much, i feel like dining there with Nic tomorrow. Heeee.

Too bad uni exams are around the corner, the rest of the girls and baby were studying in full concentration. April's about to end and i cannot wait for May to come! Too many exciting plans up ahead. :)

Pizza and Duck Confit

Because baby was craving for pizza, we headed to the best pizza places in Singapore! Peperoni Pizzeria at 6 Greenwood Avenue. Hillcrest Park. Had my usual Salmon pizza and he had Diavola half with something i forgot. Calamaris there are good too but because i had a small mini with Caroli earlier, we decided to skip appetizers.

And on Saturday, Crys Feli and I headed to Aerins at Raffles City for a very disappointing meal. The previous time i dined during Shawn's birthday was awesome but the duck confit i had last sat was 1/10

Had a rough time with Neeky Boms last Thursday - Sunday. Last weekend was dreadful. There is something about men that i really dont understand and vice versa i reckon. You know how difficult it is to work with your boyfriend? He's your best friend, your business partner and your boyfriend. Sounds like the perfect companion? Tried and tested, and the truth is... ... its tough. No doubt we have been blessed thus far but it's hard work x 1000 000. There are times when we dont see eye to eye on business decisions and it erks me!

So anyway, tension between us took a better turn on Sunday and we're totally fine now :)
